Expanding Access to Health Care
Rebekah believes that everyone in Michigan deserves access to quality health care, regardless of their level of employment or their socioeconomic status, which is why she helped negotiate the Healthy Michigan program that has brought health insurance to more than 657,000 people, and why she has sponsored legislation to ensure universal health care access. She supports:
Investing in public health and
preventative care programs.
Eliminating gender disparities in health care coverage.
Protecting Medicaid and Healthy Michigan funding.
Achieving mental health parity.
Prohibiting the sale of products with dangerous toxins such as deca-BDEs, lindane, and mercury.
Giving parents the right to know what chemicals are being used in their children’s toys and products.
Securing a right to long-term care.
